OBITUARY
AMOS A. VANSICKLE


Amos A. Vansickle, age 85 and a resident of Lorain, passed away Sunday,
November 6, 2022 at Autumn Aegis Retirement Community.
Amos was born January 15, 1937 in Lorain to the late Virgil and Anna (nee
German) Vansickle. He was a proud American and served in the United States
Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Amos married his wife Shirley on June
18, 1955 in Waterloo, New York and they were married 58 years at her death
in 2013. Amos drove charter buses for Highway Coach in Lorain traveling to
many cities throughout the United States. For 15 years he worked in
Maintenance at Oberlin College. After he retired, Amos helped many local
residents doing odd jobs. He loved woodworking, landscaping and gardening,
and watching his son John and grandsons' baseball games.
Survivors include his daughter Holly (Bob) Mihok, son John Vansickle,
grandchildren; Megan (Cory) Pasternak, Bobby, Brent, and JD, and great
grandchildren Parker and Peyton.
In addition to his parents and wife, Amos was preceded in death by his son
Mike (2000), and siblings; Virgil, Esther (Lewis), Dan, and Irene.
A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at
SS. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church, 1500 Lincoln Blvd., Lorain. Rev. Edgar
Anthony, pastor will officiate. A private burial with military rites
conducted for the family will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
