Norman A. Smith, age 86 and a resident of Elyria, passed away at his
residence surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Norman was born in Lorain, September 20, 1933 to the late Andrew and Agnes
(nee Palko) Smith.  He attended Clearview High School and the former Amherst
High School.  During the Korean Conflict Norman served in the United States
Air Force in French Morocco.  From 1956-1981 he resided in California.  In
his younger years Norman resided in Lorain.  In 1982 he returned to Ohio and
resided in Elyria.  While living in California, Norman was employed by
Hughes Aircraft where he worked as an air frame repairman.  He was a member
of Local 18 Operating Engineers, Cleveland, from where he retired in 1995.
Throughout his life, Norman enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gambling.

Survivors include his children; Barbara Hill of North Carolina, Denise
Nafaus of California, Michele Squire of Elyria, Elise Smith of Texas, five
grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and sisters and brothers; Marlene,
Agnes, Richard, and Andrew.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his sister
Marcella Owens.

There will be a Graveside Service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020
at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Section 14.  Military Rites will be conducted
by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
