Eric A. Cruz, age 54 and a life resident of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

 

Eric was born in Lorain December 19, 1967 to the late Fidel and Hope (nee Martinez) Cruz.  Eric attended the former Southview High School and was a member of the Class of 1986.  Throughout his life he was employed in the lawn care industry and was most recently working at Yard Works of Avon.  He was a loving and attentive grandfather to his four grandchildren and took an active role in their lives.  Eric enjoyed socializing with his friends and family, for whom he had a big heart.  He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Michigan State fan.

 

Survivors include his daughters Amanda and Jessica Cruz, both of Lorain, and his daughter Heather Cruz - Holley, grandchildren; Isabella, Xavier, Serenity, Zinaya, brothers Brian Cruz of Lorain, Fidel Cruz of Seoul, Korea, and Stevie (Vera) Stevens of Aurora, sister Karen Cruz (David Hawthorne) of Lorain, maternal aunts; Irene Martinez, Marie Martinez, Roberta Inchaurregui, maternal uncle Leonard Martinez, paternal uncles; Phillip Cruz, Jesse Cruz, David Cruz, paternal aunt Maria Cruz, nephews; Wendell Pulliam, Seth Pulliam, Justin Weatherington, and nieces Lilly and Selena Emerson.

 

In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his son Eric A. “Babi” Cruz Jr. (2016).

 

Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.  Private family interment will take place at a later date in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
