Evette Gleason (nee Velez), age 57 and a longtime resident of Lorain, passed
away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center from
complications of Covid.

Evette was born in Lorain, November 5, 1964.  She attended Lorain High
School and was a member of the Class of 1983.  Throughout her working  years
Evette was a bartender and had been employed at Mangine's Café in Lorain,
Artstown Pub of Avon Lake, American Legion Post 30 of Lorain, and the Maple
Inn of Elyria.  She enjoyed listening to Motown music and dancing.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Nelson and Brittani Ramirez of
Amherst, granddaughter Gabrielle, sisters; Cecelia "Chube" Velez of Lorain,
Darla Velez of Lorain, Violet (Mark) Bennett of Lorain, brothers; Vince
Velez of Lorain, Ernesto (Jennifer) Hernandez of Sheffield Lake, Dallas Rose
of Lorain, Maurice Cuevas of Lorain, and many nieces, great nieces, nephews,
and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother MaryAnn (nee Corey) in 2021, and
brothers Ismael Velez, Marty Velez, and Juan Hernandez.

Arrangements entrusted to the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in the
Sunset Terrace at Lakeview Beach, Lorain from 5-8 p.m
