James E. Welch, age 84 and a longtime resident of Lorain, passed away
Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus after a short

James was born June 20, 1936 in North Ridgeville to the late Earl and Grace
(nee Martin) Welch.  He was a 1954 graduate of Lorain High School.  James
had formerly been employed as the Superintendent of Sanitation for the City
of Lorain.  He then went on and was a semi truck driver for the former
Servisteel of Sheffield Village, retiring in 2000.  James was known as the
neighborhood handyman.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Darlene K. (nee Brandt) Welch, son
and daughter-in-law Keith and Gina Welch of Amherst, granddaughter Aly (Jon)
Johnson of Wadsworth, grandson Kevin Welch of Washington, great
grandchildren Kathryn and Jon III, and his sister Mary Domanski of Lorain.

At James request, there will be no visitation or service.
