OBITUARY
LOIS A. KANE

Lois Ann (nee Elliff) Kane of Lorain, age 70, passed away on Thursday,
October 6, 2022. She attended Elyria High School and graduated from Fort
Lauderdale High in Florida.
Lois lived quietly, independently, and had a mind of her own. She began each
day with “Good morning Lord, good morning world.” She generously served
others and was devoted to caring for her family. She retired from Oberlin
College Conservatory Library in 2019 after 46 years of service, during which
she cataloged well over 30,000 CD and LP recordings. She was dedicated to
her work and valued being a productive, organized, and well-loved colleague
of the library staff. She worked with many students over the years as a
trainer and supervisor. She enjoyed reading, shopping, home improvement, and
nurturing her many houseplants.
Survivors include her two daughters: Colleen (nee Kane) Trhlik of Akron, and
Kathy Kane (Michael Aponte) of Lorain, her three grandchildren: Sarah
Trhlik, Michael Aponte ll, and Matthew Aponte, her 10 brothers and sisters,
and many nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her long-time partner Anthony (Tony) Vasquez,
her parents Bernard and Doris (nee Schwindling) Elliff, and her sister Mary
Ann Elliff.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours of Lois
on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900

teach us love, compassion, and honor, that we may heal the earth and heal
one another." William Kent Krueger, author.
