Michael G. Long, age 63 and a life resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.

 

He was born March 3, 1958 in Lorain to the late Alice (nee Baum) and John M. Long.  Michael attended the former Lorain Catholic High School and was a member of the Class of 1976.  He retired in August 2021 as a truck driver for PGT Trucking Inc. of Columbia Station.  In his younger years Michael was a commercial fisherman working in Alaska and also during his life he did concrete construction.  He was a lifelong fan of all sports.  Most important to Mike was his family, especially his nieces and nephews, whom he loved as though they were his own.

 

Survivors include his brothers Donald (Carol) Long of Lorain, Kevin Long of Lorain, sisters Patricia Flores of Lorain and Karen Long of Lorain, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister Betty Williams.

 

A private family service will take place.
