NORRENE E. SPECKHART

Norrene Elizabeth Speckhart (Koons) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday November 9, 2021. Norrene was born September 2, 1933 to Irvin and Ivy Koons in Lorain, Ohio. Norrene married Robert Speckhart on November 22, 1952. Norrene is survived by her two children Laura Elizabeth Watkins (Clarence) of Elyria, Ohio and Robert Joseph Speckhart (Patricia) of Lorain, Ohio. Norrene is also survived by her grandchildren David Watkins of Olmsted Falls, Kathleen Reitz (Brian) of Akron, Patrick Watkins (Katie) of Columbus, Hannah Speckhart of North Ridgeville and Emily Diefendorff (Shawn) of Wadsworth and seven great grandchildren.

Norrene was proceeded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and her two sisters Elaine Carlson and Loretta Raeburn.

Norrene worked as a medical secretary and later a medical transcriber in both Lorain and Las Vegas, Nevada and for one year she was the Administrator for the Lorain County TB Clinic.

Norrene was a member of Beth-el Baptist Church and previously Church of the Open Door in Elyria and Trinity Baptist Church in Lorain. She played the piano and church organ at Trinity Baptist Church for many years. Norrene loved to study the Word of God, taught Sunday School and she enjoyed serving the Lord and encouraging others in  their faith.

Norrene was a local leader with Overeaters Anonymous (OA) and she traveled across the country speaking on behalf of OA.

Norrene loved to play cards and board games with her family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the Interment Service at Ridge Hill Cemetery located at 44805 North Ridge Road Amherst, Ohio on Monday December 6th at 11:00 am. All are also welcome to attend a Memorial Service at Beth-el Baptist Church located at 10170 West Ridge Road in Elyria, Ohio at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Beth-el Baptist Church who will dispense all memorial gifts to Love Inc. and Cornerstone Pregnancy Services.
