Richard was born in Lorain, May 7, 1938, to the late Elmer and Lydia (nee
Nemecek) Walton.  He was a 1956 graduate of Lorain High School.  In his
youth Richard was a member of Boy Scout Troop 306, Lorain, and later went on
to attain the status of Eagle Scout.  As an adult he became a scoutmaster
for the troop, where his son was a member.  He was employed for 35 years at
Ohio Edison as an office manager, retiring in 1992.  In retirement, he
managed the Southshore Wildlife Club, Vermilion, for ten years.  Richard
enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming.

He was a member of Amherst Eagles Aerie 1442 and in the past was a mason and
belonged to the Black River Lodge, Lorain.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Karen P. (nee Baker), their four
children, Barbara Walton of North Carolina, Rick (Pat) Walton of North
Carolina, Susan (Homer) Preece of Columbus, Joy (Tim) Wilson of Lorain, six
grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Carole (Alan) Reighard
of Avon Lake, his twin sister Margueritte (Bud) Wolfe of Michigan, and
sister-in-laws, Bonnie Hockman of Lorain and Anne Miller of Pickerington.

There will be a 2 p.m. Memorial Service on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at
Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 3015 Meister Road, Lorain, Ohio,
with Pastor Adam Davis officiating.

Karen would like to extend thanks to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, and Richard's
two special caregivers, Joy Wilson and Anna Walton.
