Robert "Bob" C. Read, age 69 and a longtime resident of Sheffield Township,
passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake
after a long illness.

Bob was born October 5, 1952 in Lorain to the late Charles A. and Ethel V.
(nee Russell) Read.  Bob attended Avon High School after which he enlisted
in the United State Army serving from 1971-1974.  In 1987, Bob enlisted in
the United States Air Force where he proudly served until 2003.  He was a
Tech Sergeant and worked for the military as a mechanic.  When Bob came back
to civilian life, he worked as machinist and had been employed by Duffin
Manufacturing, Elyria until his retirement in 2009.  He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, video games, and working in his garage on cars.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Karen D. (nee Block) Read, their
children Janice Read of Texas and son Chris (Courtney) Read of Elyria
Township, thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and seven
brothers and sisters.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister.

His cremation will be interred with military rites later this month at the
Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
