ROBERT E. ELFERS

Robert Emmett Elfers "Biker Bob", 85, of Elyria, went to be with the Lord on
January 5th, 2021 following a short illness.  He was born on Kelley's
Island, September 5th, 1935.  Bob was a man known for his love of God and
Family; he was a longtime parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Elyria.

Bob grew up on Kelley's Island with a love of Lake Erie and swimming; this

was evident in his many accomplishments as a Masters and marathon swimmer.
Bob even set world records with his swimming in his 40's.  He was a proud
veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War.  After
retiring from General Motors, Bob most enjoyed time with his family, friends,
road trips on his motorcycle, and his devotion and involvement in Alcoholics
Anonymous.

He is survived by his loving wife Katherine "Kaye"; his children Kelley
Elfers of Elyria, Walter Elfers of Elyria, Robert Elfers (Debra) of Grafton,
Jeanine Willis (William) of Grafton, Shannon Elfers of Florida, and Scott
Staron (Jennifer) of Grafton; sisters Joan Kreimes (Robert) of Florida,
Rosemarie Elfers of Sandusky, Sandra Cairelli (James) of Sandusky; brothers
Ben Elfers of Norwalk, Mike Elfers (Kelly) of Florida; eighteen
grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Elfers, sister
Dorothy Jean Larson, and brothers Wally and Warren Elfers.

There will be a celebration of his life in the spring or early summer.
