Obituary

Bennie Eugene Vance, age 70, and a resident of Lorain, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Even though his life was shorter than some, it was full of hard times, hard work, and difficult life choices. But he faced those challenges with a tough exterior, fought through the trials, and was given the greatest of blessings. When he was not working as a concrete company manager for both Logsdon and Sons and Jimmy Campana, he and his late wife Judy would go camping and fishing. He loved motorcycles, model cars, and old TV shows. Sometimes they would take trips down to Kentucky or just go for a ride on a Sunday.

He had many loves in his lifetime. His youthful adventures were spent with Jacky Lynne and infant son Benjamin in Virginia. The longest and sweetest was with Judy Combs. Through her, he found the love of God and the Giver of Mercy and received a second chance at life. When she passed, it was hard to replace her, but he loved again and got engaged to Marie Watson, his latest love and confidante, who survives him today. She made sure that the Main Street Avon Nursing Home, nursing staff, and Western Reserve Hospice Care members were lovingly cared for, even giving them yellow roses once to brighten their day.

Bennie was the son of Ollie Jean and Mack Vance, who brought their family up from Richlands, Virginia. He was one of four brothers, Jessie, who will be forever by his side as we remember him today as well. They were best buddies. Their brother Mack (Mickey) went before Bennie on Sept. 8th. And last but surely not least: surviving is their brother Frank (Jeannie), of Amherst, whom he loved dearly and will not be forgotten at this tender time. Daughter Rebecca Cain will miss him very much. Also surviving are Granddaughters Tiffany and Alex (Duncan) Burr. And three great-grandchildren: Jaelen, O'Rion, and Kylei, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, until the time of services at 1 PM. Interment at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
