Obituary

Christopher William Linden Jr. (Jim), aged 90, returned home to the loving arms of Jesus on July 10, 2024, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Christopher was born on February 2, 1934, in Elyria, Ohio. He passed away peacefully in his home after a short battle with cancer.

Christopher had a career at Harshaw/Saint Gobain as an  engineer, where he worked from 1949 until his retirement in 1999. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his innovative contributions to the field, including two patents bearing his name.

Beyond his professional life, Christopher was most of all a loving father and a man of many hobbies. He found joy in building model trains, boating and fishing, as well as building and flying remote-controlled planes. Later in life, his joy was found in beating the girls at a game of marbles and mowing his lawn with his John Deere.

Christopher's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his wife, Grace Linden nee Eckenfels; his children, Andy "Punkin" Spears (Ruth), Dottie Newman (John), Paul Linden, Connie Burwell (Randy), Christine Ornelas, Donna Spears (Brent),

Roger Linden, Dale Linden, Sandi Bontrager (Matt), Bobbi-Jo Brown, Steven Maddock, 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, John "Jack" Linden (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Catherine Linden (nee Ternes), and his brothers, Edward, Donald, Robert, and Carl Linden.

A Memorial Service will be held at Providence Church, 35295 Detroit Rd, Avon, OH 44011 on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 7p.m.. with visitation taking place one hour before services. The service will be an opportunity for friends and family to come together and celebrate the life of a man who was greatly loved and respected by all who knew him. Christopher's legacy of love, innovation, and family devotion will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
