David Wayne "DJ" McPherson Jr.

David Wayne “DJ” McPherson Jr., 33, passed away on April 28, 2026, after a long battle with mental illness.

Born on October 14, 1992, DJ was raised in Vermilion and later lived in Lorain and Sandusky. He was known for his humor, kind heart, and ability to make everyone around him laugh. DJ loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews, spending time with family, animals—especially his dog Rock—and learning new things.

He is survived by his mother, Sherri Browning; grandfather, Rodney (Guynith) Browning; sisters, Shyanne Tomecko, Ashley Bentley, Christina McPherson, Courtney Brown, and Brittany Evans; and brothers, Jesse Browning and Anthony Evans, along with many family members and friends who loved him dearly.

DJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtle Browning, Ruth and Paul McPherson, and his father, David McPherson Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vermilion Church of the Nazarene, 14907 Kneisel Rd, Vermilion, 44089. Family and friends are welcome to attend, bring a dish to share, and celebrate DJ through food, music, and memories.
