David, beloved son and little brother, left this world on September 20th, 2026, much earlier than any of us were ready to say goodbye.

Born on November 21, 1976, in Lorain, Ohio, David was, from the very beginning, completely and unapologetically himself. He graduated from Brookside High School in 1994 and went on to graduate with an associate’s degree from Lorain County Community College. David had a way of doing things that was uniquely his—and a personality that could make you laugh, shake your head, and wonder where on earth he came up with that idea, sometimes all at the same time.

David was very creative. He was the kind of person who created an alter ego, Auspicious Autonomous (and a mask and costume that went with it) along with his own religion, the Alien Orthodox. He loved his cats, Babette & Beatrice, horror movies, alternative metal, and rock music and when he was younger, he enjoyed creating foam latex masks for himself and bands like Gwar and Mushroomhead. He loved going to Cedar Point with his friends Dewey and Ryan and anyone else for that matter that enjoyed the big rides and partying at the beach house on his family's property.

We shared memories, and those memories are now among the things we will hold closest.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Holley and leaves behind his father, Dana Serfozo of Vermilion, a brother Darrin (Billie Jo) Urgo, sister's Dawn Beckford, Dana McCaskey and Denise (Stuart) Kolesar, three nieces Brittany, Allison, Katelyn and two nephews, Dillon and Colin as well as two great-nieces and several great-nephews, all of whom will miss him more than words can say. He also leaves behind countless stories—some that can be told at family gatherings, some that probably shouldn't be—and a lifetime of memories that will keep him very much alive in our hearts.

David left this world too soon. There was still so much life left for him to live and so many stories left to tell. But perhaps the best way to remember him is not simply with sadness, but with a smile. Remember his laugh. Remember the things that made him unique. Remember the ridiculous moments, his unexpected kindness, his stubbornness, his humor, and all the little things that made him Dave.

He was a son, our little brother, our friend, and someone we loved deeply.

Life will be a little quieter without him.But it will never be quite the same.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Serfozo's Cottages in Vermilion, 13203 W. Lake Road, from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
