Obituary

Dennis Allen Beko Jr, age 55, of Amherst, Ohio, was called to his eternal rest on May 10, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic, after his battle with cancer. He departed this world surrounded by his family.

Denny, as he was affectionately known, was a funny, loving, and creative person. He was a dedicated manager at Ziggy's for 12 years, and a proud member of the American Legion in Amherst. He was a native of South Amherst, a graduate of South Amherst High School and worshipper of St. Joseph's Church in his hometown.

An avid fan of the great American pastime, Denny found joy in baseball whether it was attending live games or delighting in watching them from the comfort of his home. Besides his love for sports, he also had a penchant for indulging in the suspenseful twists of mystery and crime television series.

Left to honor Denny's memory are his mother, Sharon Groot; his sister, Debra Whitten; his nephews, Alex Whitten and Cameron Whitten; his nieces, Kaitlyn Robinson and Madison Whitten; as well as his great-nephew, Kaleb Sewell, and great-niece, Ashlynn Whitten. Preceding him in death were his father, Dennis Beko, and brother-in-law, Bradley Whitten.

A solemn Celebration of Life service will be held on the 7th of July, 2024, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall in Amherst.

The family invites those whose lives were touched by Denny to join in commemorating his journey through life. Together, let us pray that he finds perpetual serenity in the embrace of our Lord.

"In Loving Memory, Denny Allen Beko - A beacon of joy and love, forever in our hearts."
