Dottie Lou Abner (nee Powell), age 76 of Four States, West Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, Ohio.

She was born May 17, 1947, being delivered at home by her grandma Ina B. Martin.

She loved going to church, dinner and shopping with her beloved sister Mabel. Dottie was a strong, loving, independent woman who loved her family and friends as much as they loved her.  She enjoyed going to family functions and eating Jason's rice.  Her cousin Roger has a band that she loved going to watch and dance to.

She worked many years as a waitress where she loved serving her customers. She worked at St. Barbara's Memorial Nursing Home for ten years.

Dottie is survived by her sister Mabel Ann McIntire, her brother Jimmy (Terry) Moore, daughter Stefanie Abner, son Michael (Lyn) Abner, daughter-in-law Terri Abner, step-sons John W. Jones III and Chad Jones, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Abner, her longtime companion John W. Jones Jr., brother Roy Lee Powell, daughters Tammie Shawn and Pamela Jean Abner, and her son Jeffery G. Abner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
