Gerald E. Grace Jr., age 67 and a resident of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully at New Life Hospice in Lorain on February 14, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Jerry, the son of a military family, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. In 1962, following his father's transfer, they moved to Lorain County, where he became a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lorain Southview High School in 1977 and later retired from Elyria Foundry in Elyria, Ohio.
Jerry was an avid biker and a proud member of Dirt and Grime MC, and he organized Thursday night poker runs for many years. You could usually find him in his garage working on a motorcycle. He was a foster father for many years and an ordained minister. He was the founder of "The Annual Lorain County Blessing of the Bikes". He enjoyed participating in community events such as local food drives, Christmas Toy collection, and Fundraisers for Cancer Research with the Cleveland Clinic. He was happiest when helping others.
He is survived by two sons, Gerald E. Grace III and Keith M. Grace, as well as brothers Bernard Petrus, Francis "Pete" Petrus, Grant S. [Terrie] Grace, sisters Paulette A. Grace and Karen M. Trinski (Grace), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Grace (Merkle) and son Wesley Grace, Father Gerald E. Grace Sr, Mother, Pauline D. Grace (Sumego), sister Bernadette Mitchell (Petrus), and brother Thomas Grace.
In keeping with his wishes, Jerry was cremated. A Catholic mass will be held on Saturday, March 28th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst, OH, 44001, at 9:30 A.M. A celebration of life will follow at a location to be announced.
Jerry's family would like to extend a special thank you to New Life Hospice, Lorain Mercy Hospital, and the Cleveland Clinic Oncology/Radiation. Their kindness and compassion were comforting in this difficult time.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
