Glen Gene Short, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 4:45 pm. Glen was born on February 1, 1957, in Charleston, West Virginia. Glen was the beloved father of son Glen Gene Short Jr (daughter-in-law Dana Short), daughter Carrie Little, daughter Melissa Figueroa (son-in-law Reggie Figueroa), daughter Anna Slaughter (son-in-law Jeremy Slaughter) beloved grandfather of Tyler Reilly, Nito Figueroa, Kaiden Figueroa, Chris Farmer, Abby Page, Allissa Little, Joseph Varner, Shelbie Little, Benjamin Kahler, Jordan Day, Jeremy Slaughter, Teagan Slaughter, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Glen touched the lives of everyone he crossed paths with, he will be remembered for his quick wit, his love for dogs, his huge heart, and his immense kindness to others. He dedicated his life to being the best at anything and everything he set his mind to. He was a phenomenal father, grandfather, mechanic, laborer, and general contractor.
Glen enjoyed everything from woodworking to watching movies and TV shows from his collection, especially Star Trek. He was happiest when surrounded by family, friends, and of course, his dogs. Glen was a source of knowledge and laughter to anyone fortunate enough to know him.
Glen will be remembered for his great love of life from doing many silly and dangerous stunts as a teenager, to pursuing his passions as an adult. He was always there for his family, no matter how seemingly small the issue was. Glen always had a smile on his face and always tried to keep the laughter going.
Glen is survived by his son Glen Short Jr., daughter Carrie Little, daughter Melissa Figueroa, and daughter Anna Slaughter. He is predeceased by his mother Wanda Wanell, and father Glen McCune.
A Celebration of Glen's Life will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, there will be a donation box to help with the funeral expenses.
The family would like to thank everyone for their continued support and condolences during this time.
