Beloved mother and grandmother, Helen Louise Woods of Lorain, OH, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on November 23, 1948, to Frenchie Ware and Willa Nichols in Pennsboro, WV.

She is survived by her children, Monica Grabiak (William) and Chad Woods; her grandchildren, Julie Grabiak (James) and Robert Grabiak (Samantha); her brothers, Jesse Nichols (Theresa) and Frankie Jones; and her great-grandchild, Dante. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Woods.

Helen was dedicated to her career supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. She was also a member of the Salvation Army, where she taught Bible school, participated in the ladies’ group, and served as a secretary. Helen was fiercely independent and devoted her life to caring for her family and loved ones. She enjoyed traveling, celebrating holidays, and creating lasting memories and family traditions.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
