Hugh "John" Davis Jr., age 47 and a resident of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 after a long illness.

He was born February 5, 1978 in Oberlin to Hugh J. Davis Sr. and the late Linda L. (nee St. Clair) Davis.  John attended the former Elyria West High School and Lorain County Joint Vocational School.  He was previously employed at Bob's Tire in Oberlin and Unique Tree Service of Elyria.  All through his life John had a heart of gold and helped his family with repairs and maintenance.  He enjoyed the outdoors, drag racing, working on cars, and in his youth he raced four wheelers.

Survivors include his father Hugh J. Davis Sr. and his companion Debby Harris of Elyria, sister and brother-in-law Roni and Jim Gordon of Elyria, sister and brother-in-law Connie and Abe Novak of Elyria, brother Tim Gratz of South Amherst, seven nieces and nephews and four great nephews  and niece.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Wilma and Forrest St. Clair and paternal grandparents Helen Staszak Davis and Hugh Davis.

Family will receive friends at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 46485 Middle Ridge Road, Amherst on Friday, February 14, 2024 from 2-4 p.m.  The Celebration of Life will take place at 4 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ricky Keesee.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials for defraying expenses may be given to his family.
