James R. Barker, passed away on June 17, 2024, at the age of 88 with family members by his side.

Originally from Zanesville, Ohio, he moved to Sheffield Lake, Ohio and worked at General Motors, Brookpark, where he retired after 30 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, camping, attending his grandsons' sporting events and sitting outside playing with the neighborhood kids and passing out treats.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria, son Brian, daughter Dawn Loescher, nee Barker, (husband Bob) of Sheffield Village, OH, grandchildren, Joey Lacek (wife Kaylen) of Franklin, KY, Jacob Lacek of Norfolk, VA, Haven Jones, nee Pruitt, (husband Chris) of Sheffield Village, OH, sister Myrna Fesler and brother Fred Barker both of Zanesville, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Barker, brothers Keith, Richard, Charles and Edward, sisters Clara, Patricia and Melba.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm, July 20th, 2024, at New Haven Baptist Church, 5290 French Creek Rd., Sheffield Village, OH
