James E. Lynn, age 74, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

James was born on May 24, 1952, in Lorain to the late James Pitman and Anita Joyce (nee Graham) Lynn.

An Army veteran, James enjoyed spending time working on mechanical projects and restoring old cars, a hobby that reflected his love for fixing and building things with his hands. He was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan who never missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. James also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and looked forward to attending local turkey shoots, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and friendly competition.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Schaffer.

He is survived by his children, Christina Thompson, Angela Lynn, and James Lynn; his grandchildren, Desiree (Steve Ortiz), Jasmine, and Richard Thompson IV, August Lynn, and Gabriel Lynn; his sister, Kathy Sparks; and many other loving family members.
