John "Jack" R.
Bowman
Jan 26, 1940 — Aug 17, 2026
Oberlin, Ohio
John “Jack” Bowman, age 86, and a resident of Oberlin, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026. Jack was born on January 26, 1940, in Masontown, Pennsylvania, to Thelma Ruth and John Buchanan Bowman. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Cleo Bowman. They shared 54 years of marriage before her passing in May 2020. He was a loving father figure to Charles McCormick, whom he raised from the age of one. Although Charles was his stepson, Jack was, in every way that mattered, his Dad. Charles passed away in May 2023, and Jack carried his memory with him. Jack is survived by his daughter, Kimberley Kay Fulkerson, and her husband, Ken. He will also be remembered by all of the family and friends whose lives he touched over the years. Jack spent much of his working life behind the wheel as a truck driver for Rowland Trucking, a career he truly enjoyed. He was a hard worker and loved being a truck driver. In his quieter moments, Jack enjoyed watching boxing, golf, and television. He also shared a special bond with his little Chihuahua, Scruffy, who was his faithful buddy and companion until Scruffy passed away approximately two years ago. Jack was a man who loved his family, enjoyed the simple things in life, and created memories that will be treasured by those who knew and loved him. His passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of his family, but his memory and the love he gave will remain with them always.
He will be deeply missed.
