John E.
Parker
Feb 6, 1951 — Jul 1, 2026
John E. Parker, a man of hard work, deep passions, and a love for the open road, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to his family and friends.
A familiar face in the local automotive community, John was the proud owner of River Motors Used Cars in Sheffield Village, where he shared his lifelong passion for vehicles with everyone who walked onto the lot. He also spent years behind the wheel as a truck driver for Avon Concrete, a career from which he recently retired in August 2025.
Outside of work, John’s world revolved around his favorite hobbies. He had a deep love for music and was an avid enthusiast of classic cars. Whether he was meticulously restoring a vintage vehicle in the garage or walking through local car shows, he was always in his element. John also had a massive heart for animals—especially dogs—and was rarely seen without a furry friend by his side.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Sherry (Laura) DeVaughn of Lyndhurst, Ohio; his sister, Vina (Jessie) Deel of Amherst, Ohio; and his dear friends who became family, Solmarie and Javier of Lorain, Ohio.
He was greeted in eternity by his beloved companion, Roxanne Shreve; his parents, Walter and Edna (nee Rhodes) Parker; his eight brothers, Robert, Drew, Berry, Shawn, Joseph, Bill, Jim, and Richard Parker; and his three sisters, Mercy Carder, Christine Hunt, and Barbara Miller. He is also reunited with his faithful companion, his Belgian Shepherd, Hank, who undoubtedly met him with a wagging tail.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
