Johnny William Hackney, age 57, and a resident of Cleveland passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 after his battle with Stage IV Lung Cancer.

He was born on August 15th, 1968 to the late Ferrell and Betty Jean (nee Connolly) Hackney.

Johnny was the life of the party. He never met a stranger. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. He loved his country music, singing karaoke, camping and spending time with his lifelong partner and their four-legged children. Johnny showed his love through cooking and held a very spiritual relationship with God.

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Damon Beard, his brothers, Keith (Jennifer) Hackney of Dunnellon, FL, Timothy (Lori) Hackney of Lagrange, OH and sister, Kimberly (Hackney) Miller (Chris) of Vermilion, OH, his sister-in-laws, Becky (Jarrell) Hackney of Lagrange, Jessica Lee (Tracy Morgan) of Cleveland, and his brother-in-law, Steve Broski of Lorain, OH. His beloved Aunt Johnnie Mae Connolly of Williamson, WV; a wonderful uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his oldest brother, Alan in 2023, his sister, Deborah Ann in April 2025. and brother-in-law, Mike Miller.

Private Family burial will take place in West Virginia.
