IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leroy Charles
Biltz
May 11, 1940 – May 16, 2025
Leroy Charles Biltz, age 85, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Avon, Ohio, the city where he was born and spent his life. Born on May 11, 1940, in Avon, Leroy's life was deeply rooted in the community he loved and served for decades.
Leroy dedicated over 30 years of his career to the Lorain Ford Plant, where he built a reputation for hard work and reliability. After retiring from Ford, he continued to contribute to his community by working for more than 20 years at Avon Oaks Golf Club. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life.
He served two terms as President of the Avon Conservation Club and played an active role in organizing the Avon Festival of Flowers. Leroy also gave generously of his time as a manager for several years with the Avon Summer Boys Baseball teams, helping to shape meaningful experiences for local youth.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Biltz (née McDonald), their daughter Genevieve Balas, and son Charles Biltz. Leroy was also cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father Julius Biltz; mother Genevieve Biltz (née Toll); stepmother Edna McCowan; sister Beverly Finitzer; and brother Ronald Biltz.
Outside of work and community involvement, Leroy found joy in a variety of hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors and craftsmanship. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, camping, wood finishing, and playing cards-pastimes that brought him both relaxation and camaraderie.
May Leroy's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
Funeral Arrangments entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
