Meade Jr

Visitation
Funeral Service
Lowell (James) Meade Jr., of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in his home at the age of 82.
James was a beloved husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather, who loved his family deeply. James truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive, his generosity knew no bounds. He was a humble selfless man who lived everyday by the word of God. As a christian man, he served the Lord in many ways, but will be remembered most by his kindness and never turning away someone who needed support. James was fortunate enough to spend his life surrounded by his large family, spreading joy at every family gathering with laughter and a smile. A devoted husband, James loved and cherished his wife Carol for 59 wonderful years. He enjoyed camping, traveling, telling and retelling life stories, and most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. James will be immensely missed, but will forever live on in our hearts.
James served in the United States Army from 1964 - 1967. He was a past member of Fellowship Baptist Church. For 30 years he was employed at the former United States Steel, Lorain, retiring in 2000.
In addition to his wife Carol, survivors include his daughter Kimberly Meade, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Kayleigh Meade, grandchildren; Jessica (Robert) Cook, Amanda (Nicholas) Prihoda, Tyler Meade, Marleigh Meade, Element Meade, Juniper Meade, eight great grandchildren, and his brother and sister-in-law John and Kathy Meade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Ruby (nee Hall) Meade, and his siblings; Anna May Gaydosh, Bonnie Stansbery, and Ronald Meade.
Family will receive friends at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 1-4 p.m. There will be a 3 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home.
