Marsha Ann
Diaz
May 27, 1953 – May 23, 2026
Marsha Ann Diaz (nee Gilbert) was born May 27, 1953, and passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, on May 23, 2026, at the age of 72.
She was a strong, spirited woman whose toughness was matched only by the love she had for her family. As a grandmother to many grandchildren, she created a home filled with guidance, laughter, and unconditional love. She was the kind of grandma who made sure everyone was taken care of, never hesitated to speak her mind, and always stood strong for the people she loved most.
She found joy in traveling and experiencing new places, always ready for an adventure and a story to tell afterward. She also had a special love for hummingbirds, admiring their beauty and grace, which brought her peace and happiness throughout her life.
More than anything, she will be remembered for her strength, her resilience, and the deep love she gave so freely to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her presence was unforgettable, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Hermino Diaz-Flecha; her brother, Jim Gilbert; her sons, Jimmy Ray (Paula) Diaz and Reuben (Amy) Diaz; her daughter, Reena (Travis) McGraw, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. and Lucile S. (nee Chinn) Gilbert; Her brother, David Gilbert; and her sister-in-law, Marion Gilbert.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love, lessons, and spirit will remain with her family forever.
In honoring Marsha’s wishes and the love she had for her family, her burial will be held in Kentucky at a later date. Additional details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
