Mary E. Carder (nee Johnson), 56, and a life resident of Lorain, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Mary was born on April 7, 1968 in Amherst to the late Beryl and Cleda (nee Dunn) Johnson. She was a 1987 graduate of Clearview High School. Mary was certificated at Lorain County JVS as a cosmetologist and was formerly employed in the beauty salon at the former May Co. in Sheffield until 1995. She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, going to casinos, and scratch offs. She was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and loved her pet dog, Rocky. Most important to Mary was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her mother-in-law Daisy Carder, her sister Teresa Johnson and her brother John Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband Ken Carder, her children; Andrew Carder, Michael Smith, Mindy Carder, Brandon Johnson, Kevin (Mercedes) Johnson, and Meagan (Dean) Whetsel; her grandchildren: Rylend Johnson, Haidyn Bruce, Aniyah Whetsel, Zieler Whetsel, Hannah Johnson, Jakyson Johnson, and Ezra Johnson; her siblings Gay Nelson, Kevin (Debbie) Johnson, Judi Carder, many nieces and nephews, father-in-law Ken Carder Sr., and extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Ave., Lorain from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at which time the funeral service will take place officiated by Pastor Jim Salyers of Praise Cathedral Church of God of Niles, Ohio.
