Mary Ann Doyle (nee Evanish), age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
She was born in Lorain on June 3, 1938, to the late Joseph F. and Catherine (nee Hooley) Evanish. She graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1956B, where she formed lifelong friendships. For many years, she enjoyed having lunch monthly with her high school friends.
Mary Ann was a devoted Cleveland Indians baseball fan who rarely missed the chance to attend a game or watch one on television. She found joy in the outdoors, especially taking nature walks, and loved reading and listening to music. She enjoyed cooking and took great pride in making holidays special for those she loved. Kind, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand, Mary Ann touched the lives of many through her generosity and caring spirit. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
She was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary, a longtime parishioner of Sts Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church until its closure.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons Patrick McGowan-Doyle and Terrence "Terry" Doyle; her son-in-law Warren Johnson; her sister and brother-in-law Kathleen and Joseph Martin; dear friend and sister-in-law Joanne Doyle (nee Horvath).
Survived by her daughter Peggy Johnson; her grandchildren Stephanie Williams, Paul Williams, Maebh (Dave) Kemer, Mary Clare McGowan-Doyle; her great-grandchildren Paxton, Danielle, Tristan, Naimh, Sean, Deaglan, Roisin, her daughter-in-law, Valerie McGowan-Doyle; her goddaughter, Jacqui Ladikos; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Mary Ann will be missed and loved by many.
Per her wishes, the family will have a Celebration of Life in her honor at a later date.
