Mary Velva Lowery (nee Carter), age 85 and a resident of Elyria, passed on into eternal peace on January 17, 2024.
She was the tenth child born to Gus and Zannie Carter at Parcoal, West Virginia and spent most of her childhood at Hackers Valley, West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband Eugene Lowery, sons; William (Karol) Thomas and Curt Farley; grandson Todd (Stephanie) Farley and great-grandchildren Mars Moreno, Jude Farley and Enn Greasby, her brother David Carter of Cornville, Arizona, her sister Lydia (Don) Oates of Wichita Falls, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Foster (Thelma) Carter, Daymond (Marie) Carter and Buddy (Mary) Carter, sisters Lenora (Alan) Green, Kathleen (Darrell) Radabaugh, Madge (Clay) Green, Barbara (Jacob) Anderson, and her grandson Jason Farley.
She was employed at Stanadyne in Elyria for 18 years, a realtor for Russell Realtors for 22 years and was house manager at the Stocker Center at LCCC for 12 years. She was a Red Cross Disaster volunteer for 10 years.
Her great loves were her family and friends, reading and writing, Tai Chi and her home state West Virginia.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this Spring.
