Matthew "Matt" Joseph Burt, 47, of Sheffield Village, passed away July 7, 2025 in Elyria. He was born May 1, 1978 in Lorain, to Terry and Patricia (née Giese) Burt. Matt graduated from Brookside High School, class of 1996. After high school, Matt began his career at Star Metal Products in Westlake,  where he was a machinist for 28 years. Matt married his high school sweetheart, Lora Binggeli on September 10, 2016.

Matt's kindness and gentle demeanor were apparent to everyone he met. A conversation with Matt always included smiles and laughter. He enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie and was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. During summertime, he could usually be found at the boat dock cooking something delicious on the grill while listening to music and sharing some laughs with family and friends.

Matt was preceded in death by his father Terry Burt and brother-in-law Robert Lee. He is survived by his mother Patricia Burt; wife Lora Burt; sons Nalan Binggeli and Matthew Burt, Jr.; siblings Brian (Chrissy) Burt, Melissa Burt-Lee, and Jessica (Drew) Weber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
