IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nanette Marie
(Nee Chapin) Truffin
June 18, 1961 – March 18, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nanette Marie Truffin (nee Chapin), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Nanette fought a courageous battle with cancer, ultimately succumbing to the disease that she faced with unwavering strength and grace.
Born on June 18, 1961 to Jack and Dorothy Chapin (nee Haugh), Nanette met the love of her life, Ken Truffin Sr., at the age of 17 in 1978. They were married in 1982, embarking on a beautiful journey together that spanned over 42 years. Nanette was a dedicated mother to her children, Ken (Michele) Truffin Jr, Jonathan (Maria) Truffin, Bethany (James) Wiscaver, and Gabrielle Truffin (Rafael). Her love extended to her grandchildren, Valerie, Samantha, Ashley, Michael, Kaylie, Oliver, Theodore, Magnolia, Marigold, and Rowan who were the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late son, Raphael Truffin, and her brother Tom Chapin.Nanette was also survived by her siblings: Richie Chapin, Pam (Jim) Vaccaro, Heidi (Bob) Rowe, and Rusty Chapin, her sister-in-law Linda Chapin, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Her family was everything to her, and she ensured they were always taken care of, demonstrating her fierce love and devotion.
A graduate of Brookside High School in 1979, Nanette had a variety of jobs throughout her life, from waitressing to babysitting. She was known for her kind heart, going above and beyond for everyone she encountered, whether familiar or a stranger. Her passion for finding the best deals while shopping brought her joy, and her vibrant spirit earned her friendships wherever she went.
Nanette was also a dedicated sports coach, leading her youngest daughter's volleyball team to an undefeated championship, although her oldest son playfully recalls that she never attended any of his baseball games. Christmas was her favorite holiday, a time she cherished with family and friends.
Nanette's legacy of love, kindness, and determination will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society (kidney cancer) or that you plant a tree in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral Arrangments entrused to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
