Robert "Bob" James Standen, aged 89, of Lorain, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with illness. He was born on October 26, 1935, in Elyria, Ohio.

A proud graduate of Clearview High School, Class of 1953, Robert honorably served in the U.S. Army as a machinist, where he distinguished himself as an expert rifle qualifier. Following his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career at Timm Springs, Lorain Shipyards, and Van Dorn, from which he eventually retired.

Bob had a passion for the outdoors, relishing moments spent deer hunting, fishing, and enjoying the tranquility of his family's farm in Marietta, Ohio. He was an enthusiastic BBQer, a fervent card player, and an avid pool shooter. His love for music and his playful sense of humor often led him to play practical jokes, bringing smiles to those around him.

Bob was known for his exceptional skills in troubleshooting car problems that baffled even the best mechanics, Robert could often be found tinkering with vehicles. He had a profound love for animals, having cared for numerous horses and loyal canine companions throughout his life. In his later years, he enjoyed cruising around the neighborhood in his golf cart, soaking in the beauty of his surroundings.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Eugene and Mary (nee Rogers) Standen, and his brother, Dr. Alfred Standen.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Deborah Standen; cherished granddaughters, Marissa Terron and Mariah Terron; great-grandsons Anaias Aponte, Jadiel Diaz, and Jadian Diaz; and his adored great-grand-dog, Benjamin. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff at Admiral's Pointe and SouthernCare Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Robert in his final months.

Family will receive friends at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Ave, Lorain on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Burial will held at a later date.
