Rodney Dalton, age 66, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rodney was born in Logan, West Virginia, on December 21, 1959. Rodney was a graduate of Vermilion High School in 1978. He proudly served in the United States Navy for six years. Rodney worked in sales and then roofing as his trade.

Rodney enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He loved a good game of football, watching sports, and playing his guitar.

Rodney is survived by his parents, Erna (nee Muhl) Gerki, Lovell “Bud” Dalton, daughter Kristen Dalton, son Michael Dalton, sisters: Lita Harrold (Richard), Kimberly Kuzak (Dale), brother Brian Dalton, grandson Caleb Dalton, numerous aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Elsa and Wilhelm Muhl, paternal grandparents Della and Delmos Dalton, brother Gary Dalton, stepfather Phillip Gerki, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
