Obituary

Rosemary "Rose" Lynn Schroeder, 66, of Wellington, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 30, 2026. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 2, 1959, to Mary Gabor (née Brown) and John Schroeder, both of whom preceded her in death.

Rosemary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she took great pride in the people she loved and cared for throughout her life.

She was the loving mother of Cassandra Safko-West and her husband, Kurt West; Edward Safko Jr.; and Elizabeth Bonafield and her husband, Guy Bonafield.

Rosemary was a proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Caitlin Figgins and her husband, Jacob; Riley West; Kameron West; Peyton West; Cayla Safko, who preceded her in death; Edward Safko III; Londyn Safko; Levi Safko; Jacob Bonafield; Hudson Bonafield; and Alaina Bonafield.

She also held a special place in her heart for her nephews Joshua Gabor and his wife, Emily, and Dylan Gabor and his wife, Sarah, whom she helped care for and remained close to throughout their lives.

Rosemary is survived by her siblings Patti Smith, Morgana Gabor, Thomas Gabor, Elizabeth Kitko, Joseph Gabor, Ellen Lawler, and John Schroeder. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Gabor. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Rosemary previously worked as a medical biller. She enjoyed reading, loved her animals, and treasured time with the people closest to her. She shared a special and lasting love with George N. Sharp, the love of her life, who also preceded her in death.

Those who knew Rosemary will remember her strong spirit, generous heart, and the many ways she cared for the people she loved. Her greatest joy was her family, and the love she gave them will continue through the generations.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for November 8, 2026. We will share more details closer to the event.

Rest peacefully, Rose. You were deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
