Thomas Fankhauser, age 74, and a resident of Elyria, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, for a better place.

Thomas was born July 24, 1951, to the late Lawrence Ernest and Edna Rose (nee Sexton) Fankhauser. Thomas retired from the Federal Building in Cleveland as a Security Officer.

He is survived by his four children; Bruce Gregg of Cleveland, Robert Clawson of Cleveland, Adam Smith of Cleveland, and Brandy Fankhauser of Plymouth, MN; his 10 grandchildren; and his life partner, Rochelle Melton, her two children, Vashaun Melton and Veneasa Christian, and her two children, all of Elyria.

Thomas will be laid to rest at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273, on Thursday, October 23, 2025,  at 10:15 with Military Honors.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
