Warren A. Johnson, age 72, of Lorain, passed away October 16, 2023 at the Cleveland VA Medical Center.

Warren was born August 6, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Henry Johnson and Herise Shelton. He spent his childhood in San Francisco, before moving to Los Angeles. Warren lived in Lorain for 20 years.

Warren proudly served in the United States Army. After returning home he worked at XEROX and was a teacher at American Business College in Los Angeles. He was a Security Officer in both California and Ohio.

In Los Angeles, Warren performed with Yield Not Unto Temptation, A Temptations cover group. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed listening to music, singing, cooking and studying the Bible.

Warren was a member of Crenshaw Christian Center, Los Angeles and Church on the North Coast, Lorain.

Warren is survived by his wife Peggy Johnson (nee Doyle), son Warren Allen Johnson II of San Diego, daughters: Tanesiha Johnson of Los Angeles, Alicia Johnson of San Diego, stepchildren: Stephanie Williams of Lorain and Paul Williams of Cleveland, 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 2 great granddaughters, his sister-in-law- Vera Owens and special niece Angela (Owens) Mgbeke of Hesperia, CA, and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Herise Shelton and stepfather Fred Elliott, his father, Henry Johnson, brother Terry Owens, sisters Ruby Houston and Gloria.

There will be a Memorial Service at Church on North Coast, 4125 N.Leavitt Rd., Lorain, Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 3 p.m.

Interment Western Reserve National Cemetery.
