Obituary

William A. Mauro, age 66, and a resident of Lorain, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born in 1959, William graduated from Brookside High School in 1978 and went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Electronics.

For many years, he worked as an appliance repairman, dedicating his skills to various companies throughout his career. William was known not only for his technical expertise but also for his vibrant passion for music. A talented drummer in high school, he shared his love for music with his grandsons, Ian and Jayson, and was thrilled when Ian decided to pick up the drumsticks and follow in his footsteps.

In addition to music, William had a deep love for cooking. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren cherished family recipes, ensuring that his culinary traditions would continue to be passed down through generations. He also had a passion for gardening, a hobby he embraced until health challenges limited his ability to do so.

William is survived by his daughter Melanie Novak and son-in-law John, his son Jason Mauro, his sisters Joanna Griffin and Sandra Hill, brother Brian Mauro, and his cherished grandchildren: Samantha Clady, Alyssa Novak, Brianna Novak, Ian Novak, Jayson Mauro, and Jeremiah Ready. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Clayton, Aubrie, and Addison.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tammy Mauro, and his parents, William and Josephine Mauro (nee Goodnack).

William Mauro will be remembered for his warmth, love, and the joy he brought to his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the music, recipes, and memories he shared with those he loved.

A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, Lorain.
