Robert “Bob” Dale Ody, age 56 and a life resident of Lorain, passed away early Friday, March 8th, 2024, at his residence after a prolonged illness. Bob was born March 16, 1967, to the late Dale E. and Jane A. (nee Bucholtz) Ody. He was a 1985 graduate of Southview High School. Following high school, Bob was a veteran Sergeant in the Ohio National Guard where he served from ‘85-’93. He was also a long-time employee of Spitzer Lakeside Marina in Lorain. Anyone who knew Bob knew he loved the Dallas Cowboys, bike riding, playing poker, and fishing. Most importantly, Bob loved spending time with his family, and his close life-long friends. Survivors include his children Emily Ody, Melissa Fields and Chad Blackburn, four brothers; Bill (Gina) of Lorain, Jim (Cathy) of Lorain, Tom (Tabitha) of Medina, Chris (Cristie) of Lorain, grandchildren; Lorenzo, Angelo, Ezrah, Isaiah, Mahayla, Kyler, Abigail and Jaramia, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his infant sister Laura Jane Ody, his sister Ruth Ann Ody, and his former wife and mother to his children Cheryl (nee Parker) Ody. The family will receive friends and family for a showing on Tuesday from 3-5 following a service from 5-5:30 at Andras Crematory & Funeral Home Alternatives located at 3900 Broadway Ave Lorain, OH 44052.
