Stanley Walter Plato, born September 20, 1938 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Alexander Felix and Antoinette Plato (nee Kasubienski). Stanley was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, Class of 1957, where he starred on the football and basketball teams. He served in the United States Army. Stanley was retired from Industrial Plastic in Valley City. After retirement he worked at the Oberlin Golf Club where he had worked before for 26 years before going into factory work. He also worked for Hammond Properties as a maintenance and yard work man. He was a life member of the United Polish Club where he served as an Officer for many years, Amvets Post 32, and the Elyria Eagles Aerie 431.
He is survived by his wife Sandra (nee Bunnell) of 21 years, his children Lori, John, Joseph (Kim) Plato; stepdaughter Victoria Stevens; grandchildren Leo, Rodger, Nichole, Kaleigh, Kelsey, Amanda and Joey; step-grandchildren Richard Stevens Jr., Martin Bowen Jr., Christopher White and Sarah Norman; several great children, great-great grandchildren, his brother Joseph Plato and extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his son Leo Stanley Plato, step-daughter Cynthia Bowen, step-son Richard Steven, his brothers Leo and Carl Plato, sisters Toni, Joann and Dorothy, brother-in-laws Pete Marozsan, Jim Thompson, and Carl "Beaver" Harrell, sister-in-law Pat and Barb Plato.
Per Stanley’s wishes there will be no viewing or services. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
